About this website

This is the unified application for observation time proposals of the Canary Islands Observatories (OCAN), managed by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC). From this application, proposals can be submitted to request observation time for the Spanish CAT Time (CATESP), International Time (ITP), Spanish Service Time, IAC Director's Discretionary Time, and time for IAC researchers (IAC Internal).

This tool replaces cat.iac.es and solarcat.iac.es, now deprecated, which will cease to be available in the summer of 2026. To use it, you must register and validate your email address.

The Royal Decree 1.494/2007 of 12 November regulate the basic conditions for access to technologies, products, and services related to the information society and social media by persons of reduced physical capacity.

Similarly, the guidelines and requisites indicated in Regulation  UNE 139803:2012  (for levels Priority 1 and Priority 2) have been taken into account.
In order to guarantee that this website upholds the specified access requirements, this website  will undergo periodic accessibility updates to be carried out by PAE Accessibility Observatory.
